As a child, Janel Thomas was fascinated by severe weather. As a result of this fascination, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Saint Louis University in 2010 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Geography at the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a focus on tropical meteorology. She is currently forecasting for the NASA Hurricane and Severe Sentinel (HS3) Mission.
